How do I book a driving lesson?

You can call the Steve Pearce School of Motoring or text in the day or early evening on 07985 026 439 or email on steve@steve-pearce.co.uk . We may of course be teaching so leave a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

How old do I need to be before I can drive?

You need to be 17 years old, however if you are receiving disability living allowance at the higher rate your provisional licence will come into effect when you are 16, in this instance you can apply for your licence up to 3 months before your 16th birthday.

What do I need so I can start to learn to drive?

To learn to drive you must have a provisional driving licence; you can apply up to 3 months before your 17th birthday.

Can you pick me up from college or work?

Yes, we can arrange to start your lesson from outside your school, college or place of work.

What car will I learn to drive in?

Steve Pearce School of Motoring regularly change the school car so that you learn to drive in one of the newest cars on the road. Presently we have a Toyota Yaris, this vehicle is very user friendly for students to learn to drive in.

Is Steve Pearce School of Motoring an ADI Approved Driving Instructor?

Yes, Steve Pearce School of Motoring is proud to be an ADI Approved Driving Instructor and registered with the DVSA – Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency. You will see the green ADI certificate on the front windscreen of the Steve Pearce School of Motoring car. Under the government rules, the Steve Pearce School of Motoring School must conform to high standards and the ADI regularly check our standards of tuition.

How long are the driving lessons?

Driving lessons will be 1.5 hours in length.

Are there any discounts available?

What should I wear for my lessons?

Be comfortable; in particular make sure that you wear a sensible pair of shoes, no flip-flops, no high heels and no steel cap boots.

Do I receive one to one tuition?

You can be assured that you will receive one to one tuition. You will NOT be expected to pick up or drop off other students during your lesson time.

What if, Steve Pearce School of Motoring are late for my lesson?

We aim to be on time for all lessons but should we be late, we will try to keep you informed and the lesson will be adjusted so you do not loose any valuable time.

How many lessons do I need?

Everyone learns in a different manner, Steve Pearce School of Motoring will access your driving skills and confidence and provide you with on-going assessment. How many lessons you need will depend largely upon your progress, however a couple of hours a week would be normal.

How do I know how well I am doing?

Steve Pearce School of Motoring will regularly access your progress and provide you with an update at the end of each lesson.

How do I book a driving test?

You can book a driving test by going directly to the DVSA – Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency website. Steve Pearce School of Motoring will guide you through the process of booking your test.

Can I use the Steve Pearce School of Motoring car for my test?

Yes, we are happy for you to take the test in our car, it will be the car that you are used to driving while learning and normally we will provide you with a 1 hour lesson before hand.

Will you guide me on the new changes to the driving test?

Yes, Steve Pearce School of Motoring will always keep you up to date with any changes to driving techniques and test procedures, you will be fully briefed on what to expect on both your practical and theory tests.
